The A/P Specialist role at EPIC iOfocuses on the day-to-day accounting responsibilities for the Connectivity side of our business.
The Accounts Payables department keeps that financial system running smoothly by managing cash flow and paying vendors and suppliers. We are searching for a skilled financial specialist to join our AP team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The AP specialist will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.
The A/P Specialist will adopt and adhere to a mindset of continuous process improvement and will work alongside Accounting Manager and Controller to optimizedaily and monthly responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying and recording Accounts Payable data
- Make sure there are no duplicate payments/late payments/miscoding/overpayments
- Communicate with vendors about past due payments/account inquiries
- Prepare and analyze A/P aging report to identify which vendors will be paid on a weekly basis
- Perform bank reconciliationsResolve any discrepancies or issues with vendors, ensuring payments are made promptly
- Reconciliate vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
- Ownership of daily/monthly closing checklist items on the Connectivity side of business
- Prepare journal entries to be recorded into ERP for month-end closing
- Review and analyze GL detail monthly as part of the month-end close process for Connectivity
- Review and set up current and new vendors for IRS compliance
- Process inventory and connectivity vendor invoices within ERP
- Reconcile the Accounts Payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Understand expense accounts and cost centers
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and operational efficiency within the finance department and other departments.
- Implement best practices to streamline financial operations.
- Proven working experience as an Accounting Admin, A/P Specialist or similar role
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles in accordance with US GAAP
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Associate degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- Advanced English
- Experience analyzing existing procedures to determine and implement process improvement opportunities
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration
