About the Position
The Northern Arizona University School of Nursing is seeking nurse educators who cancontribute to academic excellence, an inclusive learning community, and fostering persistence, completion, and postgraduate success for allstudents. We are hiring faculty who are committed to addressing inclusive excellence in nursing education and the nursing profession.
The School of Nursing invites applications for a 12-month non-tenure track faculty position. The successful candidate will beappointed as a non-tenure track Assistant Clinical Professor. The School of Nursing seeks creative, engaging, innovative faculty withexpertise in the areas of nursing practice, theory, community, and leadership for a postlicensure RNBSN program. This faculty appointment isfor an online position. Successful candidates will meet minimum requirements for Assistant Clinical Professor, have experience teachingonline, and have a commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring. Some evenings and weekend availablity. Some travel is required.
Responsibilities Include:
Understand and perform in the role of Nurse Educator, inclusive of teaching, scholarship,and service.
Design and develop written syllabi/course outlines, curricula, and instructional materials.
Provide evidence-basedteaching and assessment in online learning environment.
Supervise and instruct students of various ages and diverse backgrounds.
Usetechnology to promote effective learning in students and management of student progression.
Maintain office hours to support and advisestudents.
Contribute to School of Nursing and university governance by serving on committees.
Participate in ongoing professionalgrowth and development opportunities.
Provide input to the best use of funds and other resources to support effective learning andworking spaces.
This position is a remote position which allows the incumbent to complete their work at alocation other than an NAU site, campus, or facility with or without accommodation. The incumbent may occasionally work in a shared site,but primarily will work elsewhere.***
Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing AND
• Master's degree inNursing or related field
• 3 years of clinical nursing practice
• Eligible for RN license in Arizona

PreferredQualifications

• Prior teaching in baccalaureate nursing education
• Experience in curriculum and course development, design,and delivery
• Teaching experience in nursing using distance learning technology

Driving Requirement
Driving a vehicle on behalf of the university is anticipated to be a regularpart of this position. Arizona Administrative Code Fleet Safety Policy requires all employees who drive on university business becomeauthorized by submitting Driver's license information for driving record monitoring, and completion of training appropriate to the level ofdriving performed. The law applies to all faculty, staff, and students who drive personal or university-owned motorized vehicles for anybusiness purpose. Compensation & Benefits
Commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.
This is a Faculty (FAC) position. NAU offers anexcellent benefit package including generous health, dental and vision insurance; participation in the Arizona State Retirement System(ASRS) or the Optional Retirement Program (ORP); sick leave accruals and 10 holidays per year; and tuition reduction for employees andqualified family members. More information on benefits at NAU is available at the NAU HR benefitspage. Faculty are hired on a contract basis, renewable according to terms of the Conditions ofFaculty Service. Employees offered a position will be eligible for state health plans (including NAU's BCBS Plan). Employees will have31 days from date of hire to enroll in benefits, and their benefits will then be effective the first day of the pay period following theircompleted enrollment. If a new employee chooses the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) retirement option, participation in the ASRSPlan (and the long-term disability coverage that accompanies it) will begin on the first of the pay period following 183 days ofemployment. New employees who choose to participate in the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP; an alternative to the ASRS plan) will begin toparticipate on the first day of the pay period following election.
