Cognizant is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in programming and technology and be an excellent communicator and problem solver. We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of the CA-Gen & Mainframe environment and the ability to develop and maintain applications. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 4 years' experience as a Mainframe Developer and proven experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CA-Gen. It is essential that applicants have a good knowledge of system analysis and design and the ability to write efficient code as well as debug any errors. We are looking for someone who is organized and reliable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful applicant should have the aptitude to learn quickly and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. An understanding of Agile methodology and experience with DevOps is also beneficial.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
The Coolgen or GA-gen & Mainframe programmer responsibilities include:
· Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using CA-Gen, COBOL, JCL, DB2.
· Analyze system requirements and create efficient code to meet business objectives.
· Debug any errors in code and applications.
· Work independently and collaboratively as part of a development team.
· Comply with Agile methodology and DevOps practices.
· Manage and prioritize tasks and workload.
· Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in mainframe development.
· Provide technical support and guidance to other developers.
· Communicate effectively with stakeholders and other team members.
· Develop and maintain documentation for applications.
Key Qualifications:
· Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Mainframe Developer and proven experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CA-Gen
· Hands-on is must on migrating the applications from on-premises to Cloud
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $65,000 – 75,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
