This role, within the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement ( Procurement’) function, would be responsible to support Category Leads on developing and execution of category strategies including sourcing and contracting based on the commercial business strategy and changes.

This role will lead and support the cross-functional collaboration efforts needed across the enterprise, including aligning with stakeholders from Legal, Commercial leadership teams, and other important cross-functional colleagues as directed by Category Leads.

It will be critical for this individual to work in partnership with the Commercial Distribution category leads to gain clarity on category strategies, business priorities, and work autonomously to deliver on those objectives.

This role will also assist Category Leads in adherence to strategic category management processes and procedures, supplier, and category segmentation, metrics / KPI development and application, and contract management, Supplier relationship management (SRM), facilitate Sustainability initiatives, third party risk management and identify and implement value capture initiatives.

Category Support (HR & TECH)

  • This role will be expected to lead / support ancillary procurement initiatives that extends beyond projects
  • Support Category leads for various enterprise initiatives like supplier and category segmentation, Supplier relationship management (SRM), facilitate Sustainability initiatives, third party risk management and identify and implement value capture initiatives.
  • Support major category strategy development / refresh initiatives within a multi-year plan including end to end process optimization, raise MI (Market Intelligence) requests, coordinate / follow up for required MI inputs, make / buy analysis, and recommendations within category and / or within a major business area
  • Support the development of pipeline of projects by managing and maintaining the product launch calendar.
  • Support category leads to draft, format and prepare the category strategy presentation (expertise in PowerPoint presentation, excel for analysis, graphs, charts is necessary)
  • Support Category Leads to facilitate all Due diligence requests under TPRM (Third Party Risk Management)
  • Support all commercial distribution partner Global internal audits / BCF reviews, coordinate with Category Leads / BCF / Compliance / SMEs to address the audit queries
  • Coordinate within team for any action management to mitigate Audit observations / findings

HR :

  • Drive sustainable / substantial cost savings and value beyond savings for the PS, Consulting and HR categories.
  • Utilize e-Procurement tools (Ariba) to manage sourcing projects
  • Operate as trusted advisor by providing procurement insights and subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders
  • Contract Negotiation and Development ability to negotiate and draft Commercial Terms and defend Legal Terms on standard internal template agreements for Professional Services, Consulting and Human Resourcing engagements
  • Business partnering with Global Procurement and other functional areas, e.g. Legal, HR, Software Asset Management, and Finance, globally.

Extensive interaction with Business Partners is required to ensure that strategies, objectives, total costs are aligned and optimal savings are realized in the execution of contracts.

IT :

  • Leads negotiations for contractual and commercial terms for complex Agreements including Master Services Agreements, Software as a Service Agreements and Software Licensing Agreements
  • In conjunction with IT Category Managers and Internal Stakeholders, fully understands business objectives and translates them into sourcing strategies to support those objectives.
  • Supports IT Category Managers in delivery of Category Plan strategies, sourcing and productivity opportunities.
  • Supports Business Partnering & Strategy in communicating purchasing policies and procedures to users when needed.
  • Maintains effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, helps resolve escalated quality problems; helps identify measurements for improvement and target-setting
  • Coordinates, reviews and responds to supplier inquiries.
  • Works with Legal Resources to articulate specific contractual areas of concern; assesses and understands which contract terms are Legal Issues vs Business Issues.
  • Strategically negotiates Business and enterprise-level Legal Terms and Conditions with Suppliers and Service Providers

Key Responsibilities and Major Duties

Sourcing :

  • Collaborate with Category Leaders on strategy development and lead / support ad hoc project execution.
  • For special projects or on an ad hoc basis assist / lead sourcing activities as needed by identifying and screening potential sources.

Support the E2E sourcing, RFP (Request for Proposal) execution and evaluation, work with Category lead for negotiations, supplier selection.

  • Prepare Supplier selection recommendation decks for approvals / alignments.
  • Ensure compliance with BMS processes for E2E sourcing process.
  • Apply project management concepts (Project charters, schedule of activities along with action owners, stakeholder alignments, regular updates / communication / project team meetings etc.

to execute projects in a timely manner.

Check if all necessary due diligence requirements by assessing risk based on the scope of services and help business to facilitate / perform due diligences.

Contract Management

  • For special projects or ad hoc basis manage contracts / agreements, create legal documents and templates, support LOIs, SOWs (Statement of Work), amendments and MSAs.
  • Ensure compliance with the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and local regulations for E2E contracting process, ensure that contract is sent to appropriate reviewers, approvers, and signatories.
  • Help Category leads to administer contracts tracker to ensure all the information like terms and conditions, expiry dates etc. are accurate.

Experience and Competences :

  • 5 years of work experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and / or Planning, Category management
  • Experience in developing positive relationships with key stake holders, team members to achieve expected objectives
  • Understanding of urgency and ability to maintain high performance under tight timelines
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in English; the ability to deal effectively with all levels of management
