Propósito e impacto del trabajo

The Customs Associate Director will use significant broad customs knowledge to handle and lead all aspects of customs activities for a geographic region.

In this role, you will ensure compliance with all customs and other trade requirements. In collaboration with businesses, you will use customs and trade opportunities, address risk areas and provide training and operational mentorship.

You will also develop and implement a customs control framework, strategize and coordinate external audits and litigation and provide customs advice.

Responsabilidades clave

  • Lead a regional team of professionals handling complex customs issues and regulatory work within a specific geographic region.
  • Lead / guide development and implementation of complex technical customs planning solutions to capture / mitigate the customs benefits / risks.
  • Work closely with other regional customs advisory leads, meaningful tax managers and other corporate functions to support the global customs advisory lead in developing, defining and implementing global customs strategies and projects.
  • Generate and compile evidence in response to customs audits and information requests from customs authorities.
  • Lead regional government communication regarding import / export compliance (inquiries, requests, audits, etc.) with significant risk and / or impact.
  • You will develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business and / or regulatory environment while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, exhibiting authority for talent management decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions.

You will also coordinate subordinate managers and supervisors in selecting staff to align with current and future needs of the organization.

Calificaciones

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience establishing internal controls, conducting risk assessments and leading customs compliance projects
  • Understanding of customs regulations and programs
  • Minimum of ten years professional customs experience
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of professional customs experience
  • Experience with a Big four accounting firm, major law firm or multinational company
  • Experience working on regional customs team and / or customs compliance projects
  • Three years of supervisory experience
