Profile Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic leader with over 10 years of commercial and contract law experience to fill the position of Director Contract Services in our Procurement and Contracts Division.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and leading the contract’s function, ensuring compliance, managing risks, and driving efficiency across our organization.
Fluency in both oral and written communication in Spanish and English is essential for this role.

Job Description
- Provide advice and guidance on the preparation, negotiation, and execution of Company contracts, and on laws, regulations, and procedures applicable to Company contracts, during the procurement and contracting process.
- Assign, supervise, review, and evaluate the contract-related work of the Procurement & Contracts department, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, rules, and policies.
- Oversee and ensure that the process of drafting and formalizing contracts as part of Company procurement processes has been carried out in accordance with the applicable regulations, including overseeing that the executed procurement processes that give place to the contract are in compliance with Company Procurement Manual and policies, and with local and federal laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement the contracts strategy for the division, aligning it with the overall organizational objectives and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Set strategic goals and oversee their execution to optimize contracts processes. Proactively identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and overall value enhancement within the contract’s portfolio.
- Oversee all aspects of contract execution, including drafting, revising, negotiating, and finalizing contracts with suppliers, vendors, contractors, and other third parties.
- Establish and maintain contract reporting systems, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and timely execution.
- Ensure compliance legal and regulatory required contract terms and conditions in all contracts issued by the Department.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments on contracts, identifying potential liabilities, and developing effective mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate closely with Company Legal to ensure contracts adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify strategic partnerships.
- Manage vendor contract amendments, if applicable.
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to a team of contract professionals, encouraging their professional growth and development.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback to the team.
Additional Job Description Education and Experience :
- Juris Doctor from an accredited university
- A lawyer with over 10 years of commercial negotiation and litigation experience. Familiarity with Puerto Rico contract law, Puerto Rico and federal government contracting regulations, and industry best practices.
- Fluency in verbal and written communication in both Spanish and English.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Licenses / Certifications :
Valid License by the PR Supreme Court to practice Law
