Your Role:

The Maintenance Technician is a Salaried Non-Exempt position which ensures safe and efficient operation of plant manufacturing equipment through hands on maintenance and maintenance related initiatives. The Ethylene Oxide Maintenance Technician is primarily focused on the EO Sterilization Systems. This position at times may be required to assist in other non-EO maintenance duties to keep the overall facility systems functioning.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Review work orders for specific jobs.
• Monitor EO equipment performance and provide feedback.
• Ensure that all work is documented consistent with Good Manufacturing Practices and QSRs.
• Documentation of work is subject to air permit requirement reviews from Baxter Legal and ADEQ
• Work with internal customers to resolve product, service, and quality issues.
• Work with internal customers to prioritize work.
• Work with contractors to meet the needs of the facility.
• Work with vendors to order parts for facility equipment.
• Use Maximo to manage work orders and to review PMs, crib parts, reports, etc.
• Work with Maintenance Supervision to ensure timely completion of PMs.
• Drive continuous improvements in 6S initiatives.

What You'll Bring:

• Minimum HS Diploma or GED equivalent required, related technical AA degree preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise and experience in Ethylene Oxide Sterilization System preferred but not required
• Must have electrical/electronic knowledge, mechanical skills, and maintenance repair, working knowledge of all types of facility equipment or ability to learn.
• Able to work with limited supervision, have strong communication skills, both verbally and written, good documentation skills, strong computer skills, strong organizational skills, customer oriented, work effectively under stressful conditions.
• Must learn and be knowledgeable of all EO related systems.
• Must learn and be knowledgeable of Ethylene Oxide properties including potential hazards
• Must have electrical training and troubleshooting skills. Ability to troubleshoot controls (Trane, Allen Bradley, Siemens) and HMI.
• Job duties include all equipment related to EO. This currently includes sterilization vessels, aeration system, Catalytic Oxidizers, Lesni Abatement Plant, Thermal Oxidizers, Drybeds, ventilation systems, monitoring systems (FTIR, CEMS, Draeger), emergency generator for Lesni Plant, vessel control system, and other equipment related to sterilization.
• This position at times may be required to assist in other non-EO facilities maintenance duties to keep the overall facility systems functioning.

Physical / Safety Requirements

• Person must be able to be respirator SCBA qualified.
• Duties require overtime work, including nights and weekends. May include work over holidays.
• Duties require call in for issues and emergencies related to EO systems running 24/7
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to carry and climb 12 ft. ladders. Must be able to stand and work at two hour minimum intervals. Must be able to work in tight spaces.
• Position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $44,000 - $66,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
