Job Description - Executive Assistant
We're looking for an Executive Assistant to support the Baton founders (Nate and Andrew) to make them more efficient at their jobs, to peripherally support the rest of the team as well, and to make the Baton office an incredible place to work.
What is Baton?
is the Silicon Valley based technology innovation lab for Ryder, a Fortune 500 logistics company that owns 260k trucks and manages $7.4B of freight.
In September of 2022 Ryder acquired Baton to be their technology innovation lab. Prior to Ryder, Baton was a venture backed start up that was voted the in freight (Amazon was #3)
The problem we're solving
Our mission is to eliminate waste in supply chain by creating a digital platform that uses AI to improve how freight is planned.
There are 500 million hours wasted in trucking each year, over 3 billion gallons of fuel wasted per year from trucks idling, and 1 in 5 trucks on the road driving empty at any given point. This has a massive impact on the environment, the lives of millions of drivers, and ultimately, the cost of transportation that we all pay.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Assistant and Personal Assistant support
Proactively anticipate needs to help founders and team be more efficient at their jobs Travel (personal and professional), Scheduling, Expenses, etc.
Onboarding new employees
Make new employees feel welcome at Baton and they know what they need to know to do their jobs Be the go-to person for questions on HR, getting set up, how Baton operates, etc. Collaborate with hiring managers to onboard new employees
Office Management
Make the office an incredible place to work Restock office & kitchen with groceries and supplies Maintain office equipment to ensure office is running smoothly Receive deliveries and greet guests Open and distribute mail Maintain cleanliness in office, conference rooms, and kitchen by managing third party cleaners Act as the main liaison for third-party IT, facilities, and maintenance needs or repairs

Open to helping with special projects as they come up

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years experience
2+ years experience as an Executive Assistant
Bachelors degree
In-person 3+ days per week
Nice to have: Worked for startup previously
