Purpose

  • To effectively manage the Business Improvement program at Cerro Negro.
  • Facilitate the identification, diagnose, design, implementation, tracking, and closure of business improvement projects to create value by increasing efficiency, and productivity and reducing cost, keeping the business competitive among its peers.
  • Support the execution of key objectives and site strategy by achieving or exceeding the Full Potential targets included in the business plan.
  • Manage the Business Improvement portfolio, which include Full Potential Refresh programs, Rapid Replication, site continuous improvement activities and initiatives, and other corporate or regional programs related to Business Improvement (e.g., AISC Challenge).
  • Also this role involves overseeing and optimizing organization's management processes and ensuring that they align with the Site s strategic goals through monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing operative data, and implementing controls to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the work of the Senior Leadership Team, implementing special projects for the General Manager.
  • This role influences all site functions.

Essential Duties

Business Improvement

  • To work closely with site teams to focus on process improvements to enhance productivity, increase revenue and reduce costs, and will also be accountable for delivering on multiple, complex, visible initiatives that will have an immediate and long-term impact, leading to positive systemic change.
  • To initiate, organize and manage the site Business Improvement program, including, Full Potential Refreshes, TCO External Spend, Rapid Replication, Productivity Tables and other corporate programs (e.g., AISC Challenge).
  • To prepare and present Quarterly Reports, Refresh Report-Outs, and Full Potential Updates to various executive stakeholders (i.

e., but not limited to CEO, COO, CTO, SVP, RSVP, VPP, GM).

  • Lead valuation of Business Improvement program impacts and benefits and their inclusion in the Business Plan and forecasts.
  • Monitor and control progress, cost and benefits of Business Improvement programs; organize and facilitate monthly Steering Committee meetings and produce monthly and quarterly status and benefits reports, including Priority Productivity Metrics.
  • To provide coaching and support to initiative leads in project management and the use of Full Potential project tracking and reporting tools.
  • To provide insight on cost and productivity to site management team.
  • To lead / facilitate teams to identify and eliminate bottlenecks and reduce waste.
  • To analyze, identify and prioritize improvement opportunities based on value and business needs.
  • To share lessons learned and success stories through Rapid Replication and Full Potential Community of Practice (CoP).
  • Monitor and assess the performance of Operative departments and processes within the organization by analyzing KPIs and operational metrics.
  • Implement performance measurement and evaluation systems to track contractor performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Monitor and control costs associated with contractors, ensuring that budgets are adhered to and cost overruns are minimized.

Operation SLT's Support

  • To coordinate, collaborate, communicate and consolidate action plans and reports to achieve Cerro Negro key objectives.
  • To support Operation Management Areas in cost controlling, investment, management controlling and others.
  • To support the General Manager in the execution of special projects, prepare papers and reports.
  • To support SLT members when they are not on site, eg replace them in Corporate and BU South America meetings, etc.

Training & Experience

Knowledge :

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of project management and / or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in; Proven ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical constituents.
  • Fluent in Spanish and proficient in English.
  • Microsoft Office Suite for generating presentations and reports;

Experience :

  • 15 years in industries of the productive sector, such as mining, oil & gas, metalworking or similar, with Business Improvement experience.
  • 5 years of experience facilitating and coordinating meetings and workshops for small and large groups of people; change management, including stakeholder management;

and people leadership with proven ability to achieve results through others.

Skills and capabilities :

  • Ability to diagnose and forecast problems and opportunities based on limited information and time, with a track record of sound professional judgment.
  • Superior business writing skills for day-to-day communications, bulletins, instructional materials, recommendations, presentations and performance reporting.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office products.
  • Superior time management skills and prioritization skills and ability to function well under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels and all positions within the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, team player.
  • Strong process facilitation and presentation skills; confident public speaker.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic with a high display of motivation and initiative.
  • Ensure confidentiality in all company dealings.

Working Conditions

  • Position is in a remote location. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Physical Demands : While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to sit at a desk for extended periods, climb stairs, walk and stand.
  • Work Environment : The noise level in the field environment is minimal. Occasional exposure to noise, fumes, high temperature hazardous materials, sharp edges, dust, pinch-points, vibration, slippery surfaces, extreme weather conditions.
  • Protective Equipment (PPE) : Work requires mandatory PPE such as helmet, goggles, high visible clothing, life jackets / vest, safety harness, ear plugs and dust mask according to working conditions.
  • Incumbent is expected to work a 5 by 2, 4 by 3 day cycle; but required on some occasions, to work additional hours as may be needed for the business.
