Hardware technician

EMG Technician
As an EMG HW technician at Meta Reality Labs, you will evaluate and develop
product technology. You will work closely with EMG HW Platform Engineers and
EMG HW Lab Manager to analyze new technology and EMG hardware designs
throughout the development lifecycle to deliver innovative products.
Responsibilities:
? Work closely with engineering team and lab manager to identify and define
evaluation parameters and key metrics for analysis. Develop test
procedures to characterize various component and product level designs,
particularly through electrical and mechanical loading and microscopy
evaluations.
? Create, implement, and maintain detailed test procedures for various
laboratory equipment and design components.
? Execute detailed test procedures.
? Analyze and identify issues or patterns in test results and work with
engineering team to determine root cause.
? Provide clear documentation and communication of test data, results, and
key findings.
Requirements:
? Demonstrated performance in several of the skills listed below:
o Electrical and/or mechanical testing
o Hardware component testing
o Microscopy analysis of devices and materials
o Experience in developing test procedures and test method validation
o Experience with using electrical/mechanical instrumentation, such as
mechanical load frames, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc..
o Experience with using microscopy instrumentation, such as digital
microscopes, white light interferometry, FTIR, and CT
o Fast learning on operating new electro/mechanical equipment,
microscopy equipment and analysis software
? Excellent documentation and report writing skills
? Excellent cross-functional teamwork skills
? Logical and creative thinking
? Energy and drive to work in a startup environment
Qualifications:
? 2+ years lab experience is required.
? Associates, bachelors, or advanced degrees in Materials Science and
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a
related technical discipline are a plus and may be considered in lieu of
experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
? 2+ years product evaluation required: failure analysis, verification,
validation, inspection

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between 95K to 105K  depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
