Theopportunity

To seize thatopportunity, we’re looking for an experienced back-end / dataengineer to help build the core platform. You’ll develop and use aversatile set of skills : customer interaction to understandimplementation requirements, data mapping and architecture totransition customers to our platform, and solid Python skills toperform uploads and productize implementationtools.

You will use your top-notch attention todetail in combination with strong technical skills to perform datamigrations for our customers coming on to the platform.

Over time,you will build out tools that will help standardize this processfor a diverse array of types of data andenvironments.

Along the way, you’ll have anopportunity to get unrivaled exposure to all facets of building astartup, and directly shape the outcomes of and its customers.

The impactyou’ll make by joiningus

Within 1 monthyou’ll :

• Complete our onboardingprocess which will help you ramp up on our company, vision,product, key objectives, and how your role will contribute to allof those!
• Dive deep into our productdevelopment process and understand how we go from concept to designto implementation
• Learn our technical stackand apply development patterns throughout your work
• Join our customer outreach program including sitting inon your first set of live conversations with existingcustomers.
• Begin to sit in on implementationconversations with customers and assist in getting our newestcustomers set up for success

Within3 months you’ll :

• Assume ownership ofa quarterly roadmap project, which will enable you to drive thedevelopment of new functionality to enable smoother implementationsfor our customers
• Drive timely resolution ofcustomer issues, in coordination with the customer success andengineering teams.
• Lead implementationconversations with new customers, with context from thego-to-market team
• Scope and execute resultingimplementation projects and development action items, with supportfrom the existing implementation team

Within 6 months you’ll :

• Understand the product at scale and be able to provideinput to improve our technical systems and tools
• Independently run implementation conversations withcustomers, and independently scope and execute resulting actionitems and project timelines
• Be comfortablenavigating our stack and infrastructure
• Participate in interviewing and hiring, as a way toinfluence team growth and how our values inform ourculture

Within 1-2 years,you’ll :

• Champion new processes andtools to optimize the implementation experience (for our customersand our internal efforts)
• Own theimplementation function at 4Degrees including running allimplementation conversations, development work, and customercommunications.
• Help build and shape thefuture of engineering at 4Degrees

Skills you’llneed

• Proficiency with data structuresand manipulation
• Proficiency with generalPython development, particularly interacting withdatabases
• Comfort interacting with customersto determine requirements

• Experience building outadministrative tools for data transition / manipulation
• Experience identifying and implementing performanceimprovements for Python applications
