The person filling this position can :
- Direct manufacturing operations and management teams for plants and locations of company supporting business goals.
- Oversee the manufacturing of products, ensuring production, engineering, cogs & performance, safety, quality & environmental standards.
- Drive a good performance within the team, with the global KPIs and related business initiatives.
- Lead and develop Environmental, Health and Safety goals and performance within the South Latam region.
Principal duties and responsibilities :
Responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and execution of all phases of the manufacturing facilities of the company.
Monitor and make decisions to enhance the performance of all operations within the plant. Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies.
Develop and execute plans for all aspects of production including equipment purchases, staffing needs, work schedules, and material requirements.
Promote objectives and strategies to sustain a continuous improvement in variable and fixed production costs, working on productivity, quality, and safety indicators and other KPIs as necessary.
Responsible for the time and cost needed to complete projects or milestones and adjusting them as needed.
Designing and implementing new manufacturing processes and procedures to become more efficient, reduce costs and improve production capabilities.
Ensure products meet quality standards through leadership of quality standards, policies, procedures in own facilities and toll manufacturing arrangements.
Responsible for developing and executing technology and engineering projects.
Defines investments & CAPEX administration and adhere to Global and Regional requirements.
Directs and implement an organization's R&D policies, objectives, and initiatives. Ensures research and development activities will maintain the organization competitive position and profitability.
Consults with top management and R&D and makes recommendations based on findings and product performance. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for sub-function and develops budget / policies / procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
Responsible to ensure the manufacturing plans freedom to operate status by achieving legal, environmental and safety laws and regulations.
Ensure alignment and engagement with blue collar collaborators and unions.
Drive EHS&S performance through local leadership and global continuous improvement.
Education :
Chemical Engineer bachelor's or master's degree or greater.
Industrial Engineer (in chemical manufacturing).
English as a second language. Bilingual proficiency.
Minimum of 25 years of work experience.
Minimum of 20 years of experience in regional or multinational Chemical, Agrochemical or Petrochemical companies.
More than five years of experience as Plant Chemical or Chemical Facility Manager.
Experience as a Plant Manager in the chemical, petrochemical or agrochemical industry would be a plus.
Experience in Supply Chain, production planning and R&D would be a plus.
