Technical Skills
· Experience as a Performance Analyst with focus on Mainframe DB2, CICS and MQ
· Strong knowledge of DB2 Internals and a fair amount of DB2 systems and Application programming background
· Strong knowledge of CICS Internals and a fair amount of CICS systems and Application programming background
· Strong knowledge of MQ Internals and a fair amount of MQ systems and Application programming background
· Extensive experience in resolving performance issues in a mainframe online and database environment
· Rich experience in working in tools, like, Omegamon, BMC and CA products related to DB2, CICS, IMS and storage
· Should be conversant with SMF records, SAS / MXG or TDS and able to extract performance related information pertaining to DB2, CICS, IMS and MQ
· Experience with RMF, SMF, LPAR Capping and Weights
· Exposure to SAS reporting tools
· Should be able to develop analytical models and perform capacity sizing for new online / batch workloads
· Experience in handling the PMRs of ISVs and Solving the issues
Key Responsibilities:
· Troubleshooting Performance related issues
· Analyzing the Capacity Forecasting Reports
· Managing the weights of LPARS in HMC
· Review and Changing the WLM policies
· Capping or Balancing the Workload between the LPARS of the same sysplex
· Reducing the MLC using Resource Group in WLM
· Produce the Report to IBM regarding the parallel SYSPLEX Pricing
· Handling PMRs
· Create the required capacity usage statistics and graphs for the existing infrastructure
· Understand current CPU and DASD utilization and forecast future utilization based on business growth inputs
· Perform Statistical analysis of capacity models and correlation with volume growth
· Apart from being a technical specialist, the SME is expected to be a good trainer and must effectively impart skills and knowledge on technology , problem determination, high availability, troubleshooting and best practices
