Position Summary

The Manager, Alumni Marketing, Communications, and Events develops, implements, and assesses the marketingand communications activities for the Office of Alumni Relations including the alumni website, social media channels, newsletter, eventpromotion, and other various communication activities for the Advancement and External Relations area. Align key projects with expandingalumni engagement and amplifying messaging to demonstrate key outcomes including event participants, social followers, web activity, andoptimized open rates for email communication. Serve as administrator of the alumni and donor database of over 2,000 constituents. Coordinatesupport for commencement activities. 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage all aspects of the alumni andadvancement, websites encompassing content production and updates, event registration and listings, news stories, photo procurement andoptimization; monitors and analyzes SEO and traffic to the website.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing andcommunications plan for alumni relations based on feedback channels, trends, and data.
  • Responsible for creation and execution ofalumni communication and marketing efforts in support of the overall communications strategy set by the leadership for Communications andCommunity Engagement.
  • Collaborate on the development, editing and distribution of the monthly editions of the NU Alumni Connectionnewsletter, event promotion and announcements, and various communications to students, alumni, faculty, staff, donors, and communitypartners.
  • Coordinates and supports events for alumni including virtual webinars, onsite activities for alumni, and othercommunication channels for students and other stakeholders.
  • Supports commencement planning and Events.
  • Oversees the alumniand donor database consisting of over 225,000 constituents; write queries, analyze, and validate member records to ensure accuracy ofdata.
  • Leads content creation and reporting of alumni social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
  • Operates marketing and communication strategies that elevate positive impressions for NU demonstrated by outcomes drivendata.
  • Provides comprehensive performance metrics of outcomes monthly, quarterly, and annually to demonstrate increased performanceand engagement levels.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the work of individual contributors. Assists with management decisions and activities.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or relatedarea, required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience with 2+ years' experience working incustomer focused marketing and communications channels and 2+ years' experience in alumni relations and/or development in a higher educationinstitution.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Experience in developing plans, metrics, andreports.
  • Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred.
  • All skills, abilities and education will beconsidered for minimum qualifications.

Competencies/Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Raiser's Edge orfundraising software.
  • Anthology Encompass or CMO.
  • Strong database skills.
  • HTML/CSS.
  • MS OfficeSuite.
  • Design software such as Adobe Creative, Canva, or similar tools.
  • PeopleSoft or similar enterprisesoftware.
  • Salesforce or similar platform.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and creative skills.
  • Thorough understanding ofdigital media and social channels.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, priorities and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Possessexceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and deal diplomatically with challenging issues,situations, and people.
  • Strong understanding of teamwork, integrity; ethical; knowledge of the operations and functions of highereducation; and knowledge of the operations and functions of philanthropy preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to workindependently.

Location: Remote

Travel: Some Travel Required to support events or commencement relatedactivities.

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary basedon a candidate's qualifications, skills, and competencies.  Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary withinthis range for this position. The minimum salary will be offered based on the minimum exemption threshold based on state of residency. Compensation Range:

Annual Salary: $63,720.00 - $86,020.00
