Background:

Since 2016, OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) has worked towards the promotion of women’s political and public participation (WPP project), implementing OSCE commitment on women’s public and political participation, by strengthening the capacities of seven registered political parties, the Parliament of Tajikistan, youth and civil society to work towards improved Gender Equality.  

In 2023, the Office will continue to support young women leadership positions and will organize a week-long summer camp in Romit focusing on leadership, Gender Equality and political participation for approximately 30-35 young women, nominated by the Committee for Women and Family Affairs, the Committee for Youth and Sport, and the seven registered political parties and MIA Academy. 

To build communication and to make space for ongoing dialogue with MPs, the Office will involve speakers from Alliance of Women Parliamentarians, Union of Women Judges and CSOs during the summer camp to share best practices with young women, who can learn from their experience.

 

Objective of Assignment: 
Within the framework of the Women’s Political Participation Project, the OSCE POiD requires the services of a National trainer who will work jointly with another trainer to conduct a week-long Gender EqualitySummer School for 30-35 young women-leaders on leadership, Gender Equality and political participation.

 

Duration of Assignment:
12 working days in the period from 1 July to 1 September 2024.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of Human Rights Officer, the trainer will work in close cooperation with the second trainer and WPP project team and will be tasked to implement the following tasks:

  1. Drafting the agenda, training module, presentations, handout materials and preparing extracurricular activities in consultation with the project team;
  2. Conducting a 5-day Summer School for 30-35 young women-leaders in cooperation with the second trainer and invited speakers;
  3. Introducing innovative and interactive approaches to the training and ensure dynamic interaction of all participants and knowledge sharing.


Deliverables:

  1. Agenda, training module, presentations, handout materials and extracurricular activities prepared jointly with the National trainer and submitted to the OSCE;
  2. A 5-day Summer School for 26 young women-leaders conducted;
  3. Final report with recommendations/lessons learnt submitted to the OSCE within 1 week after the completion of the event.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • University degree in social sciences, pedagogy or similar with preferable knowledge on gender related issues;
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in conducting trainings on Gender Equality, leadership and empowerment of women;
  • Previous experience in working with youth is a must;
  • Knowledge of the country’s current situation on participation of women in public and political life;
  • Experience in developing and implementing interactive training programs;
  • Professional knowledge of Tajik language. Knowledge of Russian and English is an asset;
  • Computer literate with practical experience using Microsoft applications;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • Ability and willingness to work as a member of team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.

 

Remuneration Package:

Remuneration will be based on the selected consultant's/expert's qualifications, experience, the tasks and deliverables for this position and in accordance with the OSCE established rates.
