Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Operations Engineer through February 18, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

The Operations Engineer will provide engineering and technical support for a safe, reliable, and efficient operation to produce conventional and unconventional resources thru existing and future surface facilities.

This position is responsible for providing operational support for gathering systems (gas, oil and water) and production facilities such as Gas Compression and Dehydration, Tank Batteries, Water Injection systems, Oil Treatment Plants, Fuel Gas, Instruments Air, Vapor Recovery Unites, etc. It will provide general operations support for a development area, feedback for new facility designs, design and construction support for repair plans, development of facility improvement plans (safety / regulatory / reliability / profitability / optimization / decommissioning) and leading miscellaneous Operations Small/Medium Capital Projects.

This position serves as the primary process-technical contributor for work processes such as Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Pre-Safety Start-Up (PSSR), incident investigations, and project progression meetings. 

Applies knowledge of Technical Codes & Standards (Industry and Chevron Engineering Standards) related to process equipment. Utilizes tools and procedures for design safety (such as API 14C, flare and relief systems, process safety management, etc.)

Helps develop and/or review designs for proper layout, safety, and human engineering issues.

Very active participation develops process startup procedures, operating instructions, operator training guides for new facilities, operational and troubleshooting.

Special considerations

  • A minimum of 3 years of Engineering and Process Control of surface facilities for Oil & Gas production Companies.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills.
  • The position is CL 20 – 22.
  • Operative base: El Trapial Field, Neuquén Province.
  • 7x7 rotational schedule.
  • The successful candidate should be willing to stay in the position at least 3 years before applying for a different position.
  • Intermediate/Advanced English level.
