The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BI Developer to join our team at Insurance Services Business. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining Business Intelligence solutions that support decision making and drive business performance. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in data warehousing, ETL and report development. The role location is flexible.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and champion Charles Taylor Values by ensuring Agility, Integrity, Care, Accountability and Collaboration.
- Design, develop, and implement data warehousing solutions to support Business Intelligence needs.
- Create and maintain ETL processes using SSIS to extract data from various sources, transform it and load it into data warehouses.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using SSRS and PowerBI to provide insights and help drive decision making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their reporting needs.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness through data validation and testing processes.
- Provide technical support for BI applications and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
- Mentor and provide guidance to team members BI developers.
- Stay up to date with the latest BI tools and technologies and make recommendations for their use within the company.
Required skills
General
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
- Understanding of data modelling and data schemas (normalized, flat, star, snowflake, cubes, etc)
- Background in data warehouse design (dimensional modeling, Kimball, Inmon, Data Lake)
- Excellent English communication skills
- Experience with
- design, implementation, and deployment of BI solutions
- unit testing and troubleshooting
- in data and query optimization, query profiling
- reconciliation and data monitoring tools and techniques
- Power BI (Inc. DAX)
- Familiarity with SDLC methodologies – Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban
- SQL Server / T-SQL / Stored Procedures / Dynamic SQL
Microsoft Azure
- Commercial experience with Azure PaaS and IaaS, specifically:
- Azure Data Lake
- Azure Data Factory/DataBricks
- Azure VMs
- Azure SQL
- Blob storage
- Power Apps
- Azure DevOps (planning tools, build and deployment pipelines)
Desired skills
- Other SPA frameworks (Vue.js, Angular or similar)
- .Net Framework / .Net Core
- WebAPI, Webservices
- HTML / CSS / CSS
- Experience with Domain Driven Design and CQRS pattern
- Experience with functional testing automation
- Experience with development of Office Add-Ins
- SharePoint API
- Insurance domain knowledge
