Job Description

Senior Community and Events Fundraising Manager
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £45,579 - £47,858 with excellent benefits
Location: London, UK.
Hybrid Working: A minimum of 40% (2 days) of working time is spent face to face, either in London office, or as a result of external engagement or travel for WaterAid. WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base. In order to apply for this post, you must be able to demonstrate your eligibility to work in the UK.

About the team:
This role sits within the Community, Events and Education team at WaterAid within the Mass Engagement department. The Community, Events and Education team manage and deliver a diverse portfolio of fundraising and engagement activity ranging from challenge events, faith appeals, our partnership with Glastonbury festival, our volunteer Speaker Network, an education programme and community fundraising.
The team delivers far more than income by deepening the engagement of new and existing supporters, raising awareness of WaterAid's work. This role reports to the Community, Events and Education Team Lead.


About the role:
As our experienced Senior Community and Events Manager, you will be responsible for leading, developing and shaping our Community and Events activities.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of 5 fundraisers to generate income from a varied portfolio of Community and Events activities. E.g., 3rd party events, WaterAid's virtual events, faith appeals, schools fundraising, small and medium enterprises, local fundraising groups and community fundraising groups.

About you:


We are looking for an ambitious, proactive and strategic minded individual to:

  • Lead on the planning, development, and implementation of a Community and Events programme to meet agreed income, expenditure and KPI targets, along with providing inspiring leadership and strategic direction.
  • Experience of leading, managing and motivating a fundraising team.
  • Proven experience of fundraising across a variety of Community and Events audiences.
  • Proven experience of developing and implementing a Community and Events Fundraising strategy along with budget and financial management.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work; handle conflicting demands and oversee the delivery of a wide range of projects.
