How you will make impact  As a Senior Data Engineer in a highly available and distributed system that is at the integration and ingestion layer of a complex and multi-tenant platform, you will be creating, optimizing and scaling the ingestion infrastructure to make the platform infinitely elastic in its ingestion power. If you love being able to build real time, fault tolerant and distributed systems that can scale up to the Terabytes of data per hour, this is the perfect role for you. Your main toolkit will be the full Kafka Stack with a combination of Java as the core implementation language to fulfill all the streaming needs of the platform, and maintain a lean and scalable operation You will Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Apache Kafka solutions to facilitate queue management and real-time data streaming within the company's integration ecosystem. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand integration requirements and design scalable and efficient Kafka-based architectures. Configure and optimize Kafka clusters for performance, reliability, and scalability, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance. Develop custom Kafka producers and consumers in Java to integrate with various applications and systems. Monitor Kafka infrastructure and performance metrics, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues or bottlenecks. Implement security measures and best practices to ensure data privacy and compliance within Kafka environments. Provide technical guidance and support to other team members and stakeholders on Kafka-related matters. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to Kafka and real-time data processing You have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred. 5 years of experience working with Apache Kafka in enterprise environments, including design, implementation, and maintenance of Kafka clusters. Strong proficiency in Java programming language, with demonstrated experience in developing Kafka producers and consumers. Solid understanding of Kafka architecture, concepts, and internals, including topics, partitions, offsets, and consumer groups. Experience with Kafka ecosystem components such as Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, and Schema Registry. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in Kafka environments. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment. Kafka certification(s) and experience with other messaging systems or streaming platforms are advantageous. Familiarity with low-code integration platforms like Dell Boomi or similar tools is a plus.
