Our client is searching for the next Senior Design Engineer to help shape and improve their Heart Design System. As an engineer here, you'll support their component library and documentation, improve their collaboration with other teams, and update internal workflows.

The objectives are to drive productivity gains for their teammates; promote cohesive, inclusive customer experiences that are authentic to the company s brand;

and improve users' perception of quality.

This is a remote position for the first 6 to 12 months, then hybrid. Candidates considered for this role will be located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

We are looking for Senior Design Engineer...

The Job

  • Work directly with designers and engineers to implement deliverable features, additions, and improvements to all areas of the product.
  • Own front-end development from start to finish.
  • Collaborate to improve our design system by creating new, reusable components and improving the existing ones.
  • Drive ongoing design system maintenance efforts, including releasing new versions, documenting breaking changes, and helping teams with upgrades.
  • Write and maintain documentation, creating guidance for the entire team.
  • Participate in code reviews regularly to share your work and grow your understanding of the code base.
  • Participate in design reviews regularly to help drive product decisions in harmony with the design system.
  • Provide mentorship to other engineers through collaboration and pair programming.
  • Represent the design system on a company-wide level, announce relevant design system news through regular meetings with the entire front-end team, and help field design system needs of other departments.
  • Can take initiative, prioritize, manage workloads, and meet project deadlines.
  • Are an excellent communicator and collaborator who can clearly articulate ideas and vision.
  • Are self-driven and comfortable working in highly collaborative, cross-functional teams.
  • Have experience building and managing a Design System.
  • Have expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Have 6+ years of experience with React, WCAG compliance, NPM package authorship, Git-based version control, sprint management software like Jira, and design tools like Figma or Sketch.

Bonus points for Storybook, TypeScript, GitHub Actions, or headless CMS.)
