Senior Internal Auditor

Position Summary

The Internal Auditor plays a critical role in promoting good governance, risk management, and operationaleffectiveness. As a trusted business partner, this position is responsible for conducting independent and objective internal audits ofvarious functions, processes, and programs prioritized based on risk. As part of the Office of President, the position works closely withthe Board of Trustees Audit Committee.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and implement an internal audit planaligned with strategic goals and risk assessment.
• Conduct (as oversight where staff is already in place e.g. financial aid qualityassurance) internal audits covering financial, operational, compliance, HR, IT functional areas or in response to specialrequests.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Identify and assesspotential risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports with clear findings,recommendations, and action plans.
• Monitor the implementation of agreed-upon actions and follow up on progress made.
• Act asa trusted advisor to management, providing insights and recommendations to enhance business processes.
• Stay current on relevantaudit methodologies, accounting standards, and industry best practices.
• Maintain professional independence and objectivity in allaspects of the internal audit function.
• Serve as main contact for independent/external auditors as required.
• Other duties asassigned and determined by the Audit Committee.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, dataanalytics, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of related internal audit experience. Experience in a university, college or other highereducation environment, preferred
• Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor,Certified Fraud Examiner or similar certification/designation.

• Ability to lead and manage internal audits and processes.
• Ability to conduct complex work under minimal supervision withlatitude for independent judgment.
• Strong cross-functional knowledge & experience.
• Knowledge of auditing and internalcontrol standards, practices, and techniques.
• Knowledge of principles and techniques of compliance and operational auditing, programevaluation, and management analysis.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and delivers exemplary customerservice.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Strong planning and organizational skills and follow through withan ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities. Good follow-up and follow-throughto ensure deliverables.  
• Proficient in prioritizing work to meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining flexibility in thework environment in accordance to the organization's values.  
• Intermediate use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Applicationssuch as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook with advanced excel skills including VLOOKUP's and Pivot Tables.   
• Strong interpersonalskills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individual of constituencies in a diverse community.  Ability tocommunicate effectively orally and in writing while providing excellent customer service.  
• Work independently and foster acooperative spirit within a large and/or small team of diverse cultures across the organization and within all levels.

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensuratewith experience that vary based on a candidate's qualifications, skills, and competencies.  Absent exceptional circumstances, candidateswill be offered a salary within this range for this position. The minimum salary will be offered based on the minimum exemption thresholdbased on state of residency. Compensation Range:

Annual Salary: $71,630.00 - $96,340.00
