Role overview 

 

 

We are seeking a skilled Sr Software Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and maintaining web applications using Java and SpringBoot frameworks. Success in this position will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements. As a key development team member, you will be critical in driving innovation and growth within our organization.

 

 What you'll do 

 

• Work in a fast-paced, project-cantered, team-oriented atmosphere
• Visit clients outside of the nation to gather and specify needs.
• Create high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions, emphasizing backend systems and related technologies.
• Carry out unit and integration tests.
• Identifying and resolving bugs
• Ensure you've developed enough test cases to satisfy the design criteria.
• Produce well-written documentation for each microservice.
• Constantly educate yourself on new approaches and technology.
• Disseminate your expertise inside the organization.
• Communicate with other developers.
• Creating and deploying microservices using the Spring Boot framework
• Adherence to the whole Software Development Life Cycle
• Interconnecting microservices with databases
• Knowledge of how streaming systems such as Kafka operate.

 

What you bring to the role 

 

• Spring Boot Experience
• Familiarity with software development design patterns: GIT, Swagger, PCF, and Rabbit MQ
• Expertise in API technologies such as Rest Webservices
• Previous experience writing unit tests with JUnit, Mockito, or PowerMock
• Knowledge of markup languages such as JSON and YML
• Working knowledge of quality and security scan technologies such as Sonar, Fortify, and WebInspect
• Knowledge of the Agile approach

 

Must have skills

 

• Software development spring Boot design patterns: GIT, Swagger, PCF, and Rabbit MQ
• API technologies such as Rest Webservices

Working arrangements

  

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this hybrid position requires two days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON. Regardless of your working arrangement, we support a healthy work-life balance through our various well-being programs.
