Mission and objectives
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme is the UN organization that contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. Volunteerism is a powerful means of engaging people in tackling development challenges, and it can transform the pace and nature of development. Volunteerism benefits both society at large and the individual volunteer by strengthening trust, solidarity and reciprocity among citizens, and by purposefully creating opportunities for participation.UNV contributes to peace and development by advocating for recognition of volunteers, working with partners to integrate volunteerism into development programming, and mobilizing an increasing number and diversity of volunteers, including experienced UN Volunteers, throughout the world. UNV embraces volunteerism as universal and inclusive, and recognizes volunteerism in its diversity as well as the values that sustain it: free will, commitment, engagement and solidarity.
Context
The UN Volunteers Program is introducing the Senior Expert UN Volunteer modality. UN Volunteers would like to promote the modality to different UN entities. The modality will be presented to Host Entities through a one page document which will be created by the Online Volunteer, that gives full information about the modality including qualifications, age requirements, areas of engagement and the proforma cost. This task will support Sudan Field Unit in expanding the modalities of UN Volunteers as well as support mobilization efforts. The UN Volunteer will be provided with the relevant text and figures to include in the design.
Task description
We are looking for Online Volunteer who under the guidance of the Communications and Outreach Specialist will support us by producing 2 graphic designs for the Senior Expert UN Volunteer offer. In particular, the Online Volunteer is asked to:- Create draft design based on requirements and discuss with focal point/ communications team;- Develop the design according to agreed requirements.The design/layout should follow our corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the Online Volunteers in advance.The Online Volunteer will have the opportunity to build connections with the Sudan Field Unit and learn about the ways in which graphic design can support in promoting volunteerism and mobilizing volunteers.
