How will you make an impact in this role?

  • By supporting the Business in the decision process, providing financial advice on strategic priorities such as new business model development / implementations, new product launches, regulatory impact assessment and investments optimization
  • Through daily partnership to ensure the Business team is fully aware of the financial implications of the business decisions made in the region
  • Developing and delivering on-going profitability analysis at a market, deal and even product level (including scenario analysis / sensitivities);

explaining the outcome of such analysis to the Business team

  • Effectively interacting with HQ Finance, the BUFP&A; team, GDI, Controllership, PBS, GCO and other key partners
  • Being part of the Investments optimization process, ensuring funds are allocated to priority strategic investments that will allow to achieve the region’s and the organization’s financial targets.
  • Supporting Long-Range Planning, advising the Business team on initiatives to proactively grow the business, and potential transformational initiatives.
  • Preparing presentations and presenting them to the Senior Leadership if needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Intellectual curiosity and initiative are essential.
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of American Express business and the competitive environment
  • Excellent analytical skills and financial acumen; strong Financial Modeling skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a matrix environment and provide quick responses to senior leaders (in Finance and the business)
  • Excellent communication, both oral and written; proven ability to communicate complex issues succinctly to senior leaders and business partners; strong presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese language is a plus.
  • Proven success in demanding financial roles at manager level or above with at least 5 years of professional qualified experience.
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or Administration or MBA
