Our team and mission
The Industrial Audit team are driven professionals that perform audits to the Industrial Partners working with ESA, responsible for a wide range of audit activities. These include: the establishment of hourly rates that Industry will use when doing business with ESA; auditing the cost incurred in projects; assessing the financial viability and nationality of companies; assisting in price negotiations; and reviewing financial proposals. The team’s vision is to provide high-quality Audit Services that achieve cost effectiveness and value creation.

Field(s) of activity/research for the traineeship
As a Young Graduate Trainee, you will be mainly responsible for:
1) Implementing a new process of rates certification targeting SMEs and Start-ups.
The Rates Certification is designed to meet the following objectives:
- Facilitate the procurement process for the companies (including SMEs/Start-ups) that are not covered through the ESA full rates audit.
- Adapt and simplify ESA rate audit process by using limited data and reduced time yet ensuring the key calculation principles and the Agency’s regulations are respected.
- Harmonise the Rates Calculation methodology for all non-audited companies.
- Ensure Industries compliance with ESA regulations, potentially resulting in savings for the Agency through the result of the certification process.
Specifically the selected candidate will be:
- Support Training campaigns on Rates Certification to companies (delivery and content preparation).
- Implement the Rates Certification process to a portfolio of companies (SMEs/Start-ups), including review of calculations, negotiations and issuance of rates certification agreements.
- Improve the Rates certification process including content, templates and reporting.
2) Support the pre-analysis and execution of other audit activities (financial viability, nationality audits or cost audits).
3) Support the automatisation/digitalisation of audit templates and reporting.

Education
You should have just completed, or be in the final year of your master’s degree in business, economics, management or similar.

You should also have:
- Good organisation skills and an analytical and growth mindset. Be curious and self-driven.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
