Purpose of consultancy

To provide technical input to the production of key Governance deliverables within PMNCH.

Background

The overall function of the PMNCH Secretariat’s Governance Team is to develop and foster the engagement of PMNCH’s 1450 member organizations in the delivery of PMNCH’s strategy and workplan. In addition, the Governance Team is also responsible for supporting PMNCH partners and its governance structures in implementing ongoing governance learning and strengthening processes, ensuring meaningful engagement and participation. This has created additional, requirement for additional resources to deliver elements of PMNCH governance workplan and the work of the PMNCH Governance and Ethics Committee Chair for the next 11 months.

Deliverables

  • Deliverable 1: Collaborate with the PMNCH Governance Officer and deliver specific tasks in support of the Governance and Ethics Committee (GEC) and its Chair.
    • Provide input into the management of the Board, EC and GEC meetings, which will include contributions to meeting logistics, agendas, relevant meeting documents and briefing notes, talking points, presentations, notes for the record, and ensure follow ups.
      Expected by: 28 November 2024
  • Deliverable 2: Collaborate with the PMNCH Governance Officer and contribute to the delivery of the following tasks:
    • Update and coordinate the operational databases of Governance members.
    • Deliver the 2024/24 PMNCH governance rotation process, including managing nominations and transitions and support the PMNCH membership application clearance processes.
    • Develop participant lists and participation tracking for Board and Executive Committee meetings.
    • Undertake a review and update of PMNCH governance website page.
      Expected by: 31 October 2024

Qualifications, experience, skills and languages

Educational Qualifications:

Essential:

  • First university degree in International Relations, Social Sciences, Business Administration or related field.

Desirable:

  • Advanced university degree in related field.

Experience

Essential:

  • At least one year experience in global health, ideally in women’s, children’s and adolescent health.
  • At least one year working in support of multi stakeholder platforms, including governance and stakeholder engagement processes.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of the global health field and in women’s health and well-being.
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan, coordinate and conduct work in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of standard office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as maintaining and managing tracking tools and databases.
  • Knowledge of social media applications.

Languages required:

Essential:

Expert knowledge of English.

Desirable:

Intermediate knowledge of French.

Location

Off site: Home-based.

Travel

The consultant is not expected to travel.

Remuneration and budget (travel costs are excluded):

Remuneration:

Band level A - USD 3,955 - 6,980 per month.

Living expenses (A living expense is payable to on-site consultants who are internationally recruited):

Expected duration of contract:

11 months. Additional contracts may be offered based on satisfactory performance and funding availability.

The Consultant shall be solely responsible for withholding and paying any taxes, duties, social security contributions and any other contributions which are applicable to the Consultant in each location/jurisdiction in which the work hereunder is performed, and the Consultant shall not be entitled to any reimbursement thereof by WHO.
