FP&A Specialist

This FP&A Specialistposition is based in the iconic Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago and will be part of Motorola Mobility’s Finance Team.  The role will provide financial support to the Product Organization, which is critical to the company's strategic direction and success.  The position will assist in the expense planning, reporting and analysis for the Product Organization.

This position will work assist the Business Unit (BU) finance manager with short- and long-term planning processes for our research and development (R&D) organization, ensuring the global budget is allocated across all areas of the R&D organization based on our portfolio roadmap. 

Responsibilities

• Assist Finance Manager for all finance aspects related to the BU R&D Expense
• Partner with Global BU / R&D team to develop the annual plan (Expense, Capital and Headcount).
• Manage the monthly outlook process for accounts under your scope (examples could include Org Labor, Contract Labor, Capital, Prototypes, Test/Cert, NRE, etc).  
• Responsible for the monthly accounting close process; track actual spend against budget and forecast.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports to measure spend by product, by function and by Geo.
• Partner with Global Accounting team to perform month end close processes (reserve accruals and utilization, manual JVs requests, analysis, etc).
• Assist in leading relevant projects to drive automation.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelors in Finance or Accounting
• Prior experience working with large data sets
• Proficient in Excel, BPC, PowerBi, Sharepoint, Google sheet, Google presentation and SAP

Preferred Requirements

• Possess strong analytical abilities
• Hands-on experience working with multi-million dollar budgets
