Job Title: Emerging Technology Innovation Lab Tech Lead**
Job Description:
As the Tech Lead for the Emerging Technology Innovation Lab in the Insurance sector, you will play a pivotal role in driving cutting-edge projects at the intersection of technology and insurance. This position requires a dynamic individual passionate about working on emerging technologies such as AI/ML, augmented reality/mixed reality, next-gen experiences, IoT, and blockchain. The successful candidate will lead a team of talented engineers and designers in rapid prototyping projects using hyperscaler technologies.
**Responsibilities:**
1. **Technology Leadership:**
- Provide technical leadership and guidance for the team in the exploration and implementation of emerging technologies.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI/ML, augmented reality, IoT, and blockchain to ensure the lab remains at the forefront of innovation.
2. **Project Management:**
- Lead the planning and execution of rapid prototyping projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and business stakeholders, to align project goals with business objectives.
3. **Hyperscaler Technologies:**
- Leverage hyperscaler technologies to architect scalable and robust solutions, integrating them seamlessly into the lab's projects.
- Explore and implement solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to maximize efficiency and innovation.
4. **Team Development:**
- Mentor and guide team members in their professional development, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages creativity and experimentation.
5. **Prototyping and Testing:**
- Oversee the development of prototypes for proof-of-concept projects, ensuring they align with project objectives and industry best practices.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of prototypes, iterating based on feedback and lessons learned.
6. **Collaboration and Communication:**
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
**Skills and Expertise:**
1. **Emerging Technologies:**
- Experience working in AI/ML, with a focus on machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, and predictive modeling.
- Hands-on experience in developing applications or solutions using augmented reality/mixed reality technologies.
- Familiarity with IoT concepts, protocols, and practical implementation in real-world scenarios.
- Understanding of blockchain technology and its application in the insurance domain.
2. **Hyperscaler Platforms:**
- Proficiency in designing, deploying, and optimizing solutions on hyperscaler platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with cloud-native services, serverless architectures, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
3. **Programming Languages:**
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or JS frameworks (React, Angular or Node).
- Ability to rapidly prototype and develop proof-of-concept solutions.
4. **Data Management and Analytics:**
- Knowledge of data management, data engineering, and analytics tools.
- Experience working with big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop) and Databases
5. **Security and Compliance:**
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices in the context of emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of compliance standards relevant to the insurance industry.
6. **Project Management and Agile Practices:**
- Proven experience in leading projects using agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with project management tools and techniques for efficient planning, execution, and monitoring.
7. **Communication and Collaboration:**
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
8. **Innovation and Creativity:**
- A track record of driving innovation, demonstrated by the development of novel solutions or the application of emerging technologies to solve business challenges.
