Cognizant is looking for a dynamic architect with experience crafting and developing sophisticated software systems and applications. The individual will work with product owners, domain experts, and product managers to craft and deliver customer value. The role is encouraged to lead several software engineers in the delivery of custom cloud native applications. The individual in this role will ensure that standard methodologies are followed and that quality code is delivered. Lastly, Cognizant needs an individual that loves to collaborate with other technologists and enjoys mentoring and coaching.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Works with product owner and developers to groom product backlog.
• Provides mentorship on continuous integration of development practices.
• Develops API strategy for the overall application.
• Helps drive Agile ceremonies including iteration planning, standups, and retrospectives.
• Develops cloud deployment model of application.
• As needed, codes in a developer-pair as part of an Agile product-focused software development team
• Works with clients to understand reason for embracing cloud native approach to developing software.
• Develops technology strategy for engagement.
• Facilitates removal of client technical barriers to engagement success
• Ensures technical teamwork between pod teams
• Participate in Agile Scrum team activities including Sprint Planning Grooming Daily Scrum Review and Retro

Key Qualifications:

• 10+ years in design/development experience
• SME level technical skills in the following areas: application, data, integration, networking, security, architecture/design
• SME level understanding of APIs (Rest, GraphQL, and gRPC) and microservices-based architecture is a must
• Hands-on technologists with coding skills and proficient in modern technology stacks (Cloud, DevOps, Kafka etc.)
• Experience integrating with legacy mainframe/mid-range AS400 applications
• Experience of building new products using Java Spring boot, Angular and hosting on public cloud – Azure/AWS
• SME level understanding of Azure resources – AKS, Azure Function App, Logic Apps, Postgres DB, Key Vault, Azure AD, ASB, Event hub, Storage Account, Vnet/Subnet, NSG, Networking ..etc.
• Experience of creating application architecture using well-Architect Framework
• Experience of planning and performing DR/Failover activity of cloud application
• Experience of Monitoring Performance, metrics, logs/alert using Azure Application Insights, Splunk/AppDynamics

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $52,000 to $137,600 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
