Onsite Performance Engineer with SRE
Location- Hybrid Role- Chicago IL
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent related work experience.
- 8-10 years of hands-on experience in Performance Engineering and SRE.
- Experience in managing Performance Engineering projects and end-to-end delivery of Performance Engineering tasks
- Expert level knowledge and experience with Application Performance Monitoring solutions such as Dynatrace. Hands-on skills with automation and performance tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter
- Knowledge on DevOps practices and Agile methodologies. Experience with log aggregation tools such as Splunk is also required to generate insights about an application.
- Experience in Production Performance monitoring
- Hands-on work experience as a Site Reliability Engineer
- Experience in Incident Management
- Strong technical, analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Monitor Production systems, set up alerts for infrastructure operational issues and create monitoring dashboards
- Measure and optimize system performance, administer production jobs, coordinate debugging, manage and forecast system capacity
- Bring in monitoring solutions, integrate Continuous Integration and Delivery workflows (CI/CD) and collaboratively implement architecture best practices in Cloud environment.
- Develop software systems and automated solutions for operational aspects in an organization.
- Proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
Must have Skills:
- Performance testing with SRE skills
- APM monitoring and analysis
- Good Communication skills
- Ability to coordinate with multiple teams / stakeholders
- Experience in driving meetings and brain storming sessions
Work Authorization

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $90,000 – $105,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
