Role overview

 

We are looking for a seasoned PostgreSQL Database Administrator to augment our team to support its strategy of driving products and technology into everything they deliver to accelerate the growth in business. As a Database Administrator, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.

 

What you’ll do

• Creating and Running PostgreSQL Databases

• Assist in planning and performing PostgreSQL database upgrades and migrations.

• Perform debugging, tuning, and performance enhancement as well as automation of operational and continuous integration aspect of the PostgreSQL platform.

• Perform production-level support and be part of the on-call rotation when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

PostgreSQL:

• Handling Postgres versions 10, 11, 13, 14+

• Good understanding and experience in streaming/logical replication

• Expertise in backup & recovery using various looks like BART and others.

• Expertise in maintaining multiple developments, QA, and production PostgreSQL environments with experience in performance tuning.

• Understanding of AWS or Azure Cloud and experience with common Linux scripting languages (Perl, Python, Bash)

MySQL:

• Proficient in writing & optimizing MySQL queries.

• Performed backup recovery, upgrades, migration of MySQL databases.

• Handled access management & standard methodologies.

• Proficient with Unix Shell / Python scripting.

What you bring to the role

• Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in PostgreSQL database administration.

• Experience with PostgreSQL migration to Cloud would be added Plus.

• Experience in handling full workload and understand MVCC architecture.

• Experience in migrating database to PostgreSQL from other rdbms.

• Must have experience in PostgreSQL database architecture, logical and physical design, automation, documentation.

• Must have experience in MySQL engines.

• Experience with MySQL replication configuration.
