Description

The Senior Manager, Research and Information Alerts will assist with developing and be responsible for implementing a strategy for research in line with the Information Product Management strategy, as well as the strategies of the Firm and the Knowledge function.

Be the contact point and lead for the Firm for research, working closely with key stakeholders; be responsible for ensuring the Firm's research and Information Alerts are fit for purpose and meet the ongoing and changing needs of the business and our clients.

Lead and ensure the development, implementation, management, and review of global legal and business research and information alert standards and best practice.

Drives implementation of AI and other legal tech research solutions that enhance research efficiency and quality, focusing on the selection and management of key tools and resources in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities : Service Orientation

Service Orientation

• Builds and nurtures strong, strategic relationships with Knowledge Partners and Lawyers, the Director of Knowledge, Markets & Research, Regional I&R Leads and Managers, the Information Product Management lead, and the Knowledge Service Owners and Specialists.
• Partners with the Service Owner for Research & Information Alert services to design and deliver world-class research and information alert services globally, including its use for thought leadership and trends spotting.
• Oversees and supports the delivery of timely access to relevant legal and business information, supporting lawyers to deliver sound legal advice and support for clients while mitigating loss and risk.
• Cultivates responsive, positive and productive relationships, delivering value through effective communication with stakeholders and key relationships, and promotes the Knowledge brand and I&R services firm-wide.

Knowledge & Expertise

• Working closely with the Regional I&R Leads and Service Owner for Research and Information Alert services, shapes and steers the I&R services offered, promoting the role and functionality of the Firm's research and resources.
• Leads development and promotion of global and regional research policies, standards and guidelines, and best practice for In-Market and Center teams, identifying procedures for collaboration across offices and teams in an effective manner.

Acts as the subject matter expert for research and Information Alerts globally.

Stays up to date with innovations in research, particularly concerning current awareness, APIs, and AI-enabled content and research.

In collaboration with other stakeholders, coordinates implementation of AI solutions that enhance research efficiency and quality.

Technically proficient with relevant platforms such as InfoNgen and other research tools and subscriptions.

• Oversees, coordinates, and supports the delivery of vendor research training plans in collaboration with the IPM team. Working with the Service Owner for Research and Info Alert Services and Regional I&R Leads oversee and support the delivery of development training for Inmarket and Center-based research teams
• Oversees the provision of information and research within the context of industry thinking, demonstrating mastery and ongoing development of technical and professional knowledge relevant to the business and complex issues.

People Management

Engages in coaching, mentoring, and support of In-Market and Center research teams, to assist in achieving strategic goals.

Work Management

• Acts as an internal champion for Knowledge, the I&R team, and In-Market and Center I&R services, systems, and solutions, ensuring all I&R staff and lawyers engage with them effectively.
• Has strong project management skills, coordinating strategic regional and global I&R projects for the knowledge teams and facilitating communication across markets to ensure all stakeholders are informed and engaged.
• Supports, promotes, and participates in developing and implementing strategic plans, reflecting the Firm's goals and strategy.

Aligns Research team goals with Knowledge, I&R, and PG / IG goals, managing resources, and evaluating service use. Reports on the use of research resources and advises on resource management and time allocation.

Contribute substantively to the delivery of the Information and Research support as required.

Experience Required

• Significant relevant experience with extensive experience of knowledge,information and research in professional services environment.
• Experience of leading in a matrixed global law firm including setting strategy and delivering against it.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, build strong relationship virtually, communicate effectively, comfortable working in large, complex environment, highly credible and persuasive.
• Excellent people management and organizational skills; ability to prioritise and manage people's time to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to drive results and sense of urgency in setting strategies and executing against the objectives.
• Proven ability to influence, interact and consult with senior leaders, strong collaboration skills and effective stakeholder management.
• Strong communication skills, and highly credible presentation skills.
• Comprehension and strategic understanding of a diverse set of knowledge and information resources.
