Overview of position

Under the overallsupervision of the Programme Coordinator (Economic Empowerment) and theguidance of the Head of Sub Offices (HoSO), and the direct supervision of theSenior Programme Assistant, the successful candidate will be responsible andaccountable for supporting the management of livelihoods and economic resileinceproject activities within the provinces under his/her scope of responsibility.

Role objectives

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

1.Assistin implementing and, monitoring livelihoods and economic resileince programmeactivities, including SME grants, asset support for small scale businesses,employment retention, skill development initiatives (vocational training andapprenticeship), and business development services, etc., in accordance with IOMand donor requirements.

  1. Retrieve,compile, maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, includingreports, budgets, and other relevant records, and present information/dataon specific project activities implemented in the field.
  2. Monitoractivity budgets, verify availability of funds, obtain necessary approvaland update project and budget-related information for the area of yourresponsibility on regular basis.
  3. Workcollaboratively with the team and support the coordination of projectimplementation, community outreach involving liaison with diverseorganizational units, local communities, project beneficiaries, local authorities, andother relevant stakeholders such as other UN agencies, I/NGOs to buildpositive relationships, ensure community engagement, obtain necessary approvals,process, and follow-up on actions, etc.
  4. Draft field activity reports, track project progress,identify shortfalls in service delivery, identifychallenges/gaps, and bringing them tothe attention of the supervisor.
  5. Support the effective integrationof cross-cutting issues, such as protection, labour rights, gender, anddecent work, into both project assessments and implementation.,
  6. Draft correspondence, field reports,briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and otherforms of documentation related to livelihoods and economic resilience projectactivities.
  7. Attend meetings, workshops, for discussionsrelated to livelihood; assist to organize training sessions, and communicateeffectively with project beneficiaries, providing information aboutproject objectives and activities.,.
  8. Respond to general informationrequests and inquiries related to your areas of work; set up and maintainfiles/records.
  9. Perform other related duties asassigned.

Further information

Education

Bachelor’sdegree in business administration, Economics Social sciences, InternationalRelations, Development Studies, or related fields from an accredited academicinstitution with two years of relevant professional experience.

High school diploma / Certificatewith four years of relevant experience.

Experience

·Strong grasp oflivelihoods activities, income-generating activities, and economic empowermentstrategies, coupled with proficient project management support skills,particularly in the context of livelihood and economic resilience activities.

·Experience in liaisingwith governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nationsagencies and non-governmental organizations.

·Experience in workingwith migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of traffickingand other vulnerable groups; and,

  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations,non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-culturalsetting is an advantage.

SKILLS

·In depth knowledge ofthe broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by theOrganization; and,

·Knowledge of UN andbilateral donor programming.

·Knowledge of financialrules and regulations.

Languages

  • For all applicants, fluency in English is required (oral andwritten).
  • Working knowledge of Pashto or Dari is required.
  • Fluency in all national language(s) are highly advantages.
