Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a skilled Data Engineering Specialist to join their team. As part of our group of talented technologists, you will play a crucial role in identifying optimal database solutions and implementing cutting-edge technologies to address diverse data needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute ETL/ELT processes utilizing a range of tools and programming languages, including Scala and Python, across MPP databases such as StarRocks, Vertica, and Snowflake.
• Collaborate with the Hadoop team to enhance the performance of Hive and Iceberg tables.
• Contribute to the enhancement of our Data Lake and Data Warehouse initiatives, utilizing technologies like Hive, Spark, Iceberg, and Presto/Trino.
• Analyze business requirements and design and implement appropriate data models to meet organizational needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with MPP databases, including StarRocks, Vertica, or Snowflake.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with RDBMS databases like Oracle, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala, Python, Java, or C/C++.
• Strong command of Linux distributions such as RHEL, CentOS, or Fedora.
• Experience working in both OLAP and OLTP environments.
• Familiarity with on-premises environments, in addition to cloud platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Elasticsearch or ELK stack is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of streaming technologies like Kafka is a plus.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Oozie and Airflow is desirable.
• Proficiency in Spark, including PySpark, SparkSQL, and Spark Streaming, is beneficial.
• Exposure to ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, or Pentaho is advantageous.
• Understanding Healthcare data is a bonus.
• Previous experience as a Data Analyst or in Business Intelligence is preferred.
