Landscape Analysis of Mental and Emotional Wellbeing Support in the Bihar, India Education System
Request for Proposals

Introduction

Organization Overview

WorldBeing is a US-based non-profit that works to improve social-emotional wellbeing among marginalized youth worldwide. Through our Youth First and Girls First programs across India, Rwanda and Kenya, WorldBeing has impacted 450,000+ youth to date, and is set to reach 5 million more annually via active government partnerships.

Through an agreement with the State Education Department of Bihar, WorldBeing India conducts Youth First and Girls First for 7th and 8th grade students. Our rigorously tested, school-based programs are facilitated by trained teachers to support students to improve their resilience, emotional management, problem-solving, assertive communication, and awareness of gender equality and rights. Based on numerous research evaluations, our programs have demonstrated positive impacts on student inner wellbeing (resilience, self-efficacy, reduced anxiety), gender attitudes, and classroom behaviors.
