Mechanical Engineer Intern, Server Design - Summer 2024

We are hiring a Summer 2024 Intern to join our team as a Mechanical Engineer to help design sever products. Our Lenovo servers are used to solve some of humanity’s greatest challenges, and you will be part of the team that makes that possible. Faster, smaller, and more energy efficient are constants in the world of Server Design. This along with evolving technologies make mechanical development of servers always challenging. In this role you will work alongside experienced engineers to design products from concept stage to market availability and field sustainability. Creativity and attention to detail is essential for success.

 Responsibilities:

• Working with an experienced engineer to create parts for a Lenovo server
• Designing structural sheet metal enclosures supporting electronic circuit boards, and creating plastic part designs to support adapter cards
• Document designs in 2D drawings, and 3D solid models

 Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program in Mechanical Engineering
• Three-dimensional computer design skills
• Completed MET AAS courses including CAD I, II, III, Mechanisms, and Intro in Solid Modeling
• Ability to learn PTC Creo CAD tool and PTC Windchill for CAD data file management
• Ability to work onsite at our Morrisville, NC location
