QATAR: COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

INTRODUCTION TO GGGI

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. To learn more please visit about GGGI web page.

The GGGI Qatar Country Program, hosted at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) of the State of Qatar, is scaling up its activities to provide advisory and implementation support to Qatar in climate resilience and green growth projects in cooperation with MECC and relevant national and international stakeholders. GGGI is inviting applications for an internship position within the Qatar program.

The GGGI internship program, also known as the "Grow Green" Program, offers a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGI’s operations, providing insight into the work of the Institute and offering training in a multicultural environment. We strongly encourage applications from qualified women and men, particularly nationals of developing countries, with diverse professional, academic, and cultural backgrounds.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITY

The GGGI Qatar program is seeking talented and motivated individuals to provide support in program’s communication efforts. This opportunity is ideal for those who are passionate about environmental sustainability and wish to gain hands on experience in strategic communication within an International Organization.

The assignment will include, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

    • Work closely with the Communications and Advocacy Coordinator in the day-to-day implementation of the Communications activities of the Qatar Program. Participate in the strategic planning and execution of communication campaigns.
    • Support the implementation of a climate change and sustainability awareness campaign, contributing to impactful messaging and public engagement.
    • Create infographics and other visual content for online and print collaterals, enhancing the understanding and engagement of key audiences.
    • Engage in content writing and drafting various forms of communication materials such as press releases, articles, blog posts, social media content, and reports.
    • Support the dissemination of information on project progress and results through compelling messaging and visualization across various platforms.
    • Provide translation services covering English and Arabic to facilitate broader communication reach.
    • Help improve GGGI’s branding and support the regular updating of GGGI Qatar’s social media accounts and webpage.
    • Assist in reviewing, editing, and proofreading GGGI knowledge products, technical reports, training, and communication materials in line with GGGI guidelines.
    • Stay abreast of research and news relevant to GGGI's areas of work and synthesize key messages for colleagues and key audiences.
    • Coordinate and support capacity building activities, outreach, and campaigns, harnessing different media to promote the GGGI Qatar Program.
    • Manage external and internal communications, ensuring consistent and effective messaging.

The intern will work under the dual supervision of the Communications and Advocacy Coordinator and the Program Lead. The internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, international environment, working on critical issues related to sustainable development. The intern will have the chance to develop strategic communication skills, understand the functioning of an international organization, and gain insights into the operational aspects of GGGI.
