Role overview
As a Senior Security Site Reliability Engineer for Cloud Security Engineering POD, you will be responsible for crafting, implementing, and maintaining secure, highly available, and scalable cloud infrastructure and applications to support security controls across the enterprise. You will work with multi-functional teams to ensure that security is coordinated into the development and deployment process and that security controls are implemented and maintained throughout the application lifecycle. You will be responsible for the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of the data and systems within the Cloud Security Engineering POD.
What you’ll do
- Work with multi-functional teams to identify and prioritize security requirements and design and implement security controls to protect against security threats.
- Design and implement controls for cloud infrastructure, including OCI, Azure, or Google Cloud, to ensure that the infrastructure is secure and highly available.
- Develop and maintain documentation on security procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Develop and implement security monitoring tools and processes to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Automate security processes and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
- Implement and maintain security best practices and standards across the Cloud Security Engineering POD.
- Construct and take ownership of end-to-end infrastructure through code, ensure the maintenance of a high-quality code base through code reviews, and collaborate closely with development teams to automate CI/CD pipelines, eliminating redundant processes and streamlining operational requirements.
What you bring to the role
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 3+ years in a senior level of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, cloud security engineering (Required).
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and technologies, including OCI, Azure, or Google Cloud. GCP strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of security standard processes, principles, and technologies, including encryption, authentication, access control, network security, and cloud security.
- Experience with automation and scripting tools such as Python, Golang, Bash, or PowerShell.
- DevOps hands-on experience on GitLab/GitHub, Ansible, Terraform, Packer.
- Proficient in all facets of the Terraform skills (Mandatory).
- Create a DevOps tool solution from the ground up to bridge organizational gaps.
- Prior professional background within a corporate entity, chipping in to the construction of complete infrastructure components rather than just specific portions.

Working arrangements
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring four [4] days a week at the client’s office in Brampton or Cognizant office in Mississauga Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
