Lenovo’s User Experience Design (UXD) team is seeking an Employee Experience Senior Design Manager.

This talented individual will lead a vital group in the business whose mission is to improve and design new and impactful experiences for Lenovo employees, channel partners, and customers. Unrelenting passion for UX, a strategic mindset, and the desire to lead and influence through data-driven insights and superb organization & communication skills are keys to the success of this role.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement a strong User Experience strategy by seeing across & engaging multiple teams, platforms, and tools.
  • Build, manage, and mentor a global team of UX designers and professionals to empower their career growth and professional output, along with fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Guide team members in strategy, research, design critiques, and design execution tasks and maintain high-quality standards for your team throughout the design process.
  • Define the measurements of success and work towards meeting and exceeding expectations.
  • Present strategic visions and UX solutions to hundreds of global stakeholders that manage and use tools across various business functions.
  • Engage executives across Lenovo to promote EX team’s mission and work to win their support via compelling storytelling and communication methods.
  • Champion and advocate for UX principles and lead your team to apply them thoughtfully into designs and solutions.
  • Partner with the research team to uncover actionable insights and the software UX team to implement consistent design.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects at a time and stay up to date on their statuses.
  • Work efficiently and effectively alongside software development processes by injecting timely user acceptance testing schedules and prioritizing key features against sprint, project, and business goals.
  • Become familiar with the various internal tools, groups, and processes to aim for holistic improvements.
  • Leverage different and appropriate ways for your team to convey information and recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms with colleagues, management, and external parties both in the U.S. and other countries.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of professional experience in UX, digital strategy, or design, with a demonstrated track record of transforming user, customer, or employee experiences.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in managing a UX, digital strategy, or design team.
  • Solid understanding and proficiency of UX principles, techniques, tools (e.g., Figma), and processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of end-to-end software development processes.
  • Familiar knowledge of sales processes and customer experience.
  • Experience with cross-team collaboration (development, design, research, project management, etc.)
  • Experience developing and leading executive-level presentations.
  • A portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., reports, presentations, case studies, etc.).

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree and 10+ years of professional experience in UX, digital strategy, or design.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in managing a UX, digital strategy, or design team.
  • Experience leading projects and teams through digital transformation.
  • Experience in incorporating accessible and inclusive design.
  • Experience working for a consumer electronics or software company.
  • Experience working in a global company.
  • Familiarity with the latest consumer electronic products and technologies.
  • Growth mindset that keeps a success-oriented, long-term outlook.
  • Proactive self-starter and strong team collaborator.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and facilitate alignment and decision-making.
  • Stellar verbal and written communication, with a talent to influence executives and create impact.
