Position Summary

The Quality Assurance SpecialistTeam Lead plays a crucial role as the primary support and coach for theQuality Assurance team, serving as a point of contact in the absence of the Associate Director. This individual will provide day-to-dayleadership, guiding the team toward achieving results and addressing performance opportunities among team members. The Team Lead activelyoversees the Quality Assurance Review Dispute Process, Policy & Compliance Memo Process, and maintenance of the Financial Aid Policies andProcedures Manual. Additionally, they contribute to monitoring controls that impact the administration of Title IV programs to ensureUniversity compliance. The Team Lead also reviews and ensures the accuracy and compliance of university financial aid training materials,oversees the proper training of Quality Assurance Specialists, and supports the Associate Director during external audits.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist leadership in overseeing the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure monthy qualityassurance reviews are completed timely and accurately.
  • Monitors the QA Review Dispute Process to ensure QA Specialists maintainappropriate accuracy and partners with university stakeholders through remediation.
  • Oversees the Policy & Compliance Memo process toensure memos are drafted timely, presented to leadership for approval, and appropriately housed for document retention.
  • Assist thedirector with monitoring and interpreting changes in legislation specific to the administration of Title IV programs and insure thatregulatory changes are addressed and that policies and procedures are in place to insure compliance with Title IVprograms.
  • Responsible for QA Specialist Dashboard data entry and reporting.
  • Supports the Associate Director in monitoringthe Quality Assurance team's projects and tasks.
  • In leadership's absence, attends and participates in committees and task forcesdesigned to improve the policies, procedures, and business practices of the university as a whole.
  • Manage the process and procedurereviews to ensure compliance with federal, state, VA, and organizational policies and regulations.
  • Manage the maintenance of thepolicy and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes through daily publications, workshops and conferences, and through theassistance and the direction of leadership.
  • Participate in ongoing department projects, or other special projects, asneeded. 
  • Reasonable and consistent attendance to fulfill requirements of the position.

Requirements:

Education &Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of financial aid, advising, training, auditing,career services, military benefits, accounting, or related experience required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of leadership experiencepreferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing compliant policies and procedures in a Title IV environment.
  • Currentknowledge of financial aid programs and regulations required.
  • Regulatory analysis and interpretation experiencepreferred.
  • Experience with data processing and automated records maintenance systems preferred.
  • Experience in highereducation preferred.
  • Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred.
  • All skills, abilities and educationwill be considered for minimum qualifications.

Competencies/Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Knowledge ofavailable private, state, and federal financial aid programs.
  • Knowledge of academic and business workings of a higher educationinstitution.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of ED Express software.
  • Skill in oral andwritten communication.
  • Skill in operating equipment, such as personal computer and phone system.
  • Skill in utilizingtechnology, including ability to navigate websites, perform word processing, create spreadsheets, send e-mail and electronicmessages.
  • Ability to use and facilitate online communications using email and/or other technology-based communicationmedia.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and strong timemanagement skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to prepare letters, reports, and businesscorrespondence.
  • Organized with good time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and other applications in theMicrosoft Office suite.

Candidatereceiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate's qualifications, skills, andcompetencies.  Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. The minimum salarywill be offered based on the minimum exemption threshold based on state of residency. Compensation Range:

Hourly: $24.86 - $32.32
