Overview of position | The SBC program in UNICEF Afghanistancurrently uses a third-party company (LTA with CTG) to manage a network ofSocial Mobilizers (SMs) who are contracted to conduct community engagementsessions. This modality has technical and administrative/operationallimitations, as the TPC plays merely the role of a recruitment agency with noability to provide technical backup support, liability to facilitateprogrammatic support to SMs in planning and implementing Community Engagement(CE) sessions nor in resolving issues SMs face in the field. SBC Extenders have been supporting the overallmanagement and implementation of SBC interventions through Social Mobilizersand have good technical and background experience, as well as they haveestablished good working relationships and coordination with the linedepartments. |
