For our Arabic programs,the University has an immediate need for volunteer Arabic-Speaking Instructors to teach undergraduate and graduate level Businesscourses.
Job Description
UoPeople, an American accredited University, offers programs in business toArabic speaking students from around the globe. As an Arabic-speaking instructor at UoPeople, you will be teaching in the Arabic programs,designed especially to teach Arabic-speaking students from different parts of the world, specifically the Middle East. You will get a chanceto share and demonstrate your ability, knowledge, and understanding of teaching designated courses within your area of specialty using theonline Learning Management System (Moodle) as well as by using your native Arabic Language in an American institution accredited by theDistance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). Course instructor responsibilities will be explained in great detail later, but theyessentially require you to commit daily to course-related activities, which include responding to student emails and messages, postingdiscussion questions, engaging with students, grading learning journals, and reviewing peer assessments.
Please note that aminimum of a master's degree is required to teach at the university for undergraduate programs. A doctorate degree in the discipline isrequired to teach at the graduate level.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with diverse student populations and globaladministration
- Convey subject matter expertise in online classes.
- Regularly check in with the Office ofFaculty Affairs regarding any course issues.
- Monitor course grades and finalize grades as needed.
- Must be sensitiveto a diverse student population, representing the full spectrum of cultural, political, socio-economic and religious backgrounds.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a master's degree is required for teaching undergraduate programsand a PhD degree for postgraduate programs.
- Online teaching experience, preferred but not required.
- Expertisein the subject area of the course.
- Appreciation of a diverse student population, representing the full spectrum of cultural,political, socio-economic, and religious backgrounds.
Compensation:
Your service as aVolunteer Instructor will support UoPeople’s global mission to offer affordable, quality, online, degree-granting educational programsto any qualified student. Instructors should plan for a weekly commitment of around 15 hours of volunteering for the duration of thenine-week UoPeople term. The University issues a modest reimbursement to Volunteer Instructors that ranges ($450 for undergraduate and $650for graduate level) per course. This is intended to cover expenses associated with teaching such as internet service, subscriptions, orother materials.
