Lead Engineer - New Product Development

SHAPE THE ENERGY TRANSITION PRODUCTS

As an NPD (New Products Development) Lead Engineer, you'll actively participate to the design and development phases of the new technologies to be included into New Products for energy transition and consolidated portfolio applications (Centrifugal and Axial Compressors, Turboexpanders, Reciprocating Compressors, Bearings, Innovative Rotating Equipment).

In a multidisciplinary environment you will cover the mechanical, aerodynamic and thermodynamic design and arrangement of mechanical systems.

In a stimulating environment such as that of the “energy transition” a further challenge will be to adapt to evolving market requirements leveraging adjacent markets solutions and performing research and testing on concepts identified. 

The main work areas will be related to develop and coordinate execution plan of “energy transition” programs as hydrogen compression with centrifugal machines. In this role he/she will lead the project’s day-to-day management and set program’s direction ensuring the NPD process is followed including any required product reviews.

As a Lead Engineer for New Product Development, you will be responsible for:

• Lead design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects, adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product requirements
• Developing "system engineering" culture, supporting the product configuration definition and relevant changes after industrialization phase
• Providing technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project(s), acting in a global team
• Providing timely communications on significant issues or project(s) developments to the higher management
• Participating as a presenter both in technical and business reviews, assuring proper documentation of technical data is generated for the assigned projects

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have an open mindset ready to learn and apply new concepts.
• Be an experienced professional graduate in Mechanical, Aerospace, Energy Engineering, with a basic knowledge of a rotating equipment design, able to manage technical documentation, International standards and codes. PhD is a plus.
• Understanding of thermodynamic principles applied to turbomachinery performances.
• Understanding of mechanical systems dynamics, mechanical configurations, and preliminary design concepts.
• Understanding of fluid dynamics and aerodynamics
• Work in team with experienced people giving an active contribution to the design and decision-making process. 
• Have an open approach to problem solving, expanding the current theory, methods, and tools knowledge to fill the gaps.
• Demonstrate good computer skills and be familiar with computer programming and software structures.
• Be adaptable to assimilate new information, different or unexpected circumstances in a fast-changing environment
• Have good verbal and written skills, be fluent in English and hold an international passport
• Participate to all phases of product creation and be part of multiple teams in the engineering product life, demonstrating initiative and perseverance
