The Role

Our Transformation Management Consulting practice is looking for a Senior Consulting Manager to join our journey. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about transformation, wants to make an impact, and loves working together to deliver flawless results for an end-client to join us on our mission. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for using proven methodology to create a client strategy and a change strategy to help drive business and IT strategies and implementations for the Fortune 2000.

With a focus on Change, Training, and Communication, our OCM Practice is an integral part of our Consulting offering, because we help organizations make changes successfully. We support all types of Business and IT Strategy transformations such as Organizational Re-alignments, Digital Transformations, Business and IT Outsourcing, IT Package Implementations and Upgrades (i.e., SAP, Oracle, SalesForce.com, ServiceNow, & most industry leading practice packages), Organizational Design & Governance, Workforce Strategy & Planning, Mergers and Acquisitions, Target Operating Model Transformations, and more. We lead with a strong platform for integrated OCM and Technology, which sets us apart from the competition and makes this group a key partner in some of the biggest and most business-changing digital transformations in the industry.

To be successful, you’ll need a background that supports your ability to upskill and implement traditional Change Management capabilities such as Organizational Change Management Strategy & Planning, Change Impact Assessments, Readiness Assessments, Stakeholder Analysis & Engagement, Communications (Strategy, Planning and Implementation), Training (Strategy, Planning and Delivery). For these positions, we are considering people with transferrable skills, such as experience in Communications, Marketing, Teaching, Social Media, or Accounting.

We’re looking for Senior Consulting Managers who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. At the Senior Manager / Associate Director Level, this means overseeing advisory consulting engagements, being a trusted advisor to clients, establishing oneself as a thought leader in your field, solving complex problems, consultatively working with a client to achieve business goals, driving contributions to offerings and innovations, and serving as a people leader, guiding multiple teams as they work to transform a client and the world. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Engagement Lead and manage teams of Consultants, Senior Consultants, and Managers for one or more client projects to ensure effective negotiations, well-aligned solution-delivery-to-plan, clear engagement governance accountabilities, profitability, and overall client satisfaction

  •       Enrich client partnering and anticipate client needs based on a solid understanding of emerging industry requirements and/or  technological breakthroughs in Organizational Change Management.

  • Ensures the appropriate alignment and collaboration of consulting teams and individuals to support project requirements and activities in the focus area and within larger Cognizant and client ecosystems;

  • Serve as a people leader, supporting the recruitment, onboarding, upskilling, and mentorship of your colleagues in Consulting; participate in people development and community-building activities

  • Guide development, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews;

  • Advocate for and establish appropriate recognition for Consulting within projects, and negotiate applicable consultant rates in project sizing that correspond to the value Consultants contribute to engagements;

  • Develop and manage the capture, communication, and sharing of intellectual property (IP) and project artifacts for a focus area, domain area, or practice management area;

  • Exercise leadership in the development of Consulting service offerings;

  • Leverage collegial networks across Cognizant (e.g., sales, service line community, offshore delivery) and externs partners to innovate solutioning or resolve issues; and 

  • Support and contribute to the establishment of thought leadership in the industry, to promote Cognizant’s brand and to drive additional opportunities for Cognizant.

Qualifications

  • 10 + years of consulting, professional services, digital strategy development, advisory, or transformation programs operating in a client-facing capacity serving and leading external client engagements

  • A proven track record in a client-facing role with at least 2 of which (though ideally more) are leading digital technology team

  •    Experience in successfully developing and leading consultant teams in consultant tasks (e.g., planning, task structuring, analysis, solution delivery)

  •        Works with Cognizant account stakeholders (e.g., CPs, CRMs), technology partners (e.g., Amazon) and other business allies to identify consulting opportunities or develop winning proposals

  •        Contingent on experience and expertise, demystify emerging technologies, and translates innovations (e.g., computer-aided medical diagnostic, AI, Machine Learning, hybrid cloud) into the business impact benefits clients can understand

  •  Regularly contribute to the practice by developing practice initiatives, research on industry trends, knowledge repositories; develop reusable consultative strategies and solutioning approaches in support of business development and expansion activities

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business or technical discipline; MBA or Master’s or advanced business degree preferred   

  • Travel Required: Yes – Up to 50%
