**Position is Onsite in Ellendale, ND**

Local to the area or must be willing to relocate.


    Lenovo Professional Services are currently hiring for an HPC System Administrator to support HPC and AI customers. The role requires frequent presence in Ellendale, North Dakota


    The candidate is expected to work effectively in providing onsite (and remote) Linux System Administration and Support in the areas of Lenovo HPC & AI platforms and solutions. This person will be responsible for supporting HPC solution at customer sites.


    Being a part of the Lenovo HPC Professional Services HPC Sys Admin team, your responsibilities are to:

    • Hardware Installation and maintenance, which includes troubleshooting, before replacing components
    • Interaction with the customer by keeping them updated with the progress of all issues
    • Assist and work with Lenovo Level 3 (L3) team to perform deeper analysis of any issues
    • Implement, deliver, and administer HPC Servers and Cluster.
    • Setup and steer frequent customer meetings 
    • Liaise with Lenovo partners and manage their activities
    • Perform Solution optimization, Migration and upgrade and recommend strategies
    • Work collaboratively and complementary with the hardware sales team, technical sales (presales) team and Business Partners
    • Work on a billable basis (customer-paid projects)

    The position offers you the opportunity to build a solid customer relationship, so it is important that you possess customer interaction skills and the ability to make technical decisions, to collaborate during projects with several organization verticals, partners, and customers and to develop training and knowledge base documentation.


    Position requirements:

    • Experience in Linux (ie SuSE, RHEL & CentOS)
    • Experience in HPC or Linux system troubleshooting and support
    • Able to perform OS installation and upgrades with no supervision
    • Able to perform high-level problem determination
    • Customer service skills, including written and oral communication with the client

    Applicants must possess strong customer interaction skills and the ability to make technical decisions. Collaborate during projects with several organization verticals, partners, and customers. Develop training and knowledge base documentation for technical skills throughout a career.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Relevant experience 3+ years
    • Linux (i.e. Suse, RHEL & CentOS)
    • Knowledge on System Management related skills, e.g. IPMI/SNMP
    • HPC or Linux server system troubleshooting and support
    • x86 server installation, troubleshooting and performance tuning. Knowledge on
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Good knowledge of Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Very good hands-on technical skills and problem-solving skills

    The base salary range budgeted for this position in CA, CO, Jersey City - NJ, NV, Ithaca - NY, NYC, WA, is $60 - $120k. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
